# Color

HTML is basically a design language, the computer is not preforming any calculations. Instead, our instructions deal with where to put the words and now, how those character should be formatting

We have the ability to change the color of the font as well as the background of a section.

Open up that first webpage in the notepad

**TIP**: When you go to file open you might not see your file, but if you change the file type to ALL FILES it will magically appear

**TIP #2:** if you still don't see your file, return to your desktop. Do you see a file in the folder? If the answer is no, you broke a basic rule of Room 112 and were not in control of where your file is saved.

![](/files/-Lxv_eNcbDF44g34TGQW)

We want to change the colors of the body of our website so make sure you are working in the correct section

```
<body>
     Make sure you are working in this section here
</body>
